iPodifier is a video transcoding utility for iPods that works in Windows. The application can be used to convert your video files from one format into another that is supported by the iPod. The good thing about this application is that it is highly automated. It was intended for people who use DVR systems like Tivo or SageTV. When those systems record videos, they save them to a particular folder. You can configure iPodifier to look for new content in those folders. Every time new content is found, the utility will automatically start a conversion job. Once done, the new video, which is now compatible with iPod video, will be added to iTunes and your iPod will be synced so that the new content is available. Now, the iPod has to be always connected to the computer and the application constantly running for this whole process to work flawlessly. If you do a lot of conversion jobs to carry the video with you, this is perhaps a good application to save you some time. It can also grab torrent downloads and convert them to iPhone. It would be great, though, if the application gave you a little bit more freedom to change conversion profiles. Maybe an iPhone profile would have been nice, too.
